The Basic Set Up Fundamentals
The basics of a good set up are Posture, Grip and Alignment, but without a good Pre-Shot Routine the set up alone will not produce a good swing.
The Pre-Shot Routine
A pre-shot routine helps eliminate outside thoughts and focuses attention on the shot at hand.
The routine begins when the club comes out of the bag and includes the club selection, placement of the hands on the club, visualization of the shot, number of practice swings, waggles and looks at the target.
Stick with the routine you choose all the time even if you hit a bad shot and make sure your routine is not too long.
